The Plaster House

While living in Tanzania, I had the opportunity to rebrand The Plaster House for their upcoming 10 year anniversary.

The Plaster House is a charity-run rehabilitation space on the outskirts of Arusha, Tanzania and operates like a home. Local healthcare providers attend to children who have undergone corrective surgery. The program started in 2008 with 9 beds, but now houses 100+ children. The brand has now expanded to do more than just offer a healing space to recover; they educate communities about disability to change cultural stigma. 

With a red and black logo, the previous identity didn't demonstrate the love, care and inclusion provided at The Plaster House. Keeping in mind that the organization has audiences in both Western countries and local Swahili-speaking communities, I created simple visual imagery that has the flexibility to shift and grow with the organization’s needs. The rebrand showcases the organization's joy towards community building and its hopeful outlook for future generations to come.
