Brand Identity for School of St Jude
Branding that celebrates free education
Where it began
It started with a flight to Melbourne, where I joined Seesaw Studio's team to build on design research already underway. After three months of development, I flew to Arusha, Tanzania to live and work with the school's marketing team and bring the branding to life.
About the school
Founded by Australian Gemma Sisia in 2002, the School of St. Jude has helped students rise from extreme poverty through free education, funded entirely by international donations and sponsorships.
Results
I collaborated with local vendors, marketing and business staff, and the founder to piece-by-piece tackle old branding in both print and digital formats. This entailed recommissioning hand-painted school signage (common in Tanzania), billboards, brochures, and campaign material. The annual end of year campaign was noticed by donors, with one writing in with an email, “This is what we need more of. Wonderful storytelling.”
